Handmade millinery for special occasions

Embroidered heart by textile artist, Karen Lewis

I am an experienced textiles artist now specialising in hats. My handmade millinery designs are perfect for social events that require originality, style and a touch of elegance.

My collections have been inspired by many different themes such as architecture, topiary, nature and blue and white porcelain. I use traditional materials such as sinamay and felt, and also source silks, ribbons, buttons, feathers and anything of interest from vintage clothes shops and markets. My work tends to be very decorative in style, using a variety of fabrics to create a wide range of distinct surfaces and textures.

I produce a range of designs for casual wear, outdoor, dinner, the theatre, summer balls, graduations and weddings. I would like to bring a touch of the past to the 21st Century; making hats a part of everyday life again, not just for special occasions.

Many people have already commissioned their own unique, individual piece. Please contact me to discuss your requirements. Prices range from £50 - £400.
